Original Summary
I genuinely think I built one of the best retail/easy-to-use commodity platforms out there , combining consistent market news and public official data used regularly by analysts. Would love to get some feedback from anyone interested. I even made a lil product video showcasing its features. :) I've linked it below the site below. edit: despite the vid, its not actually on the App Store yet. still working on that :| TLDR : GEO provides commodity market briefs 3 times each trading day, so you know what’s going on throughout the day, rather than after it. Readable in ~5 minutes, GEO covers the full commodity complex of energy, metals, and ags. Supplemental features include active contract prices across 19 products, personalized watchlist, data release calendar, full news section, and the data releases themselves with custom charts and historical data. GEO is meant to be strictly informational, not market analysis. It is not meant to be a replacement for Bloomberg, but could be used as a more minimal, retail-friendly alternative. GEO is not meant to provide investment advice or explicitly contribute to trading decisions. While code is used to essentially collect and calculate all of the news and date, an LLM is used to compile everything and generate the briefs. Link: http://www.readgeo.net IDEA : Most market newsletters (if not all) only send once, MAYBE twice, each day. That’s not entirely helpful when you want to know what’s happening THROUGHOUT the day rather than after it. There are newsletters that provide personal commodity research, but I found most are heavily paywalled and are expensive. I had the idea “what if there was a market brief that scrapes the entire internet for the most significant, breaking news stories and publishes a brief 3 times each day?” So that’s what I built for commodities WHAT : GEO sends you a commodities brief morning, midday, and evening at set times covering the latest news stories across crude, refined products, nat gas, metals, and agriculture. It provides the news picture, tied with active contract prices so you can see how the latest stories are impacting the markets. We also provide a news calendar for upcoming official data releases, personalized watchlist, and a dedicated news section so you can read through ALL the headlines, not just what was in the briefs. The iOS app still in testing, but GEO updates the entire site internally as soon as a dataset gets released and sends out push notifications that alert you as soon as it happens, practically down to the minute (I was shocked I pulled that off personally). Briefs can also be sent to your inbox, which is useful when users don’t have service since email tends to handle that better. We have a weekly recap as well sent Sunday evenings. The data we provide goes deep. GEO pulls inventory data, shipping choke points, retail fuel prices, macro data, crop conditions, spread calculations, and much more. I also have custom charts built in so users can see view
