https://reddit.com/link/1x3tsst/video/m3gk0xtt1zuh1/player History - The project started in April this year when I visited my brother's place & he showed me a SaaS app they started to use to track the attendance of their team & track their travel so that they can be compensated for their time & fuel. I gotten introduced to AI tools back then & I was like - this should be doable within a week. So I built the app. The first usable version took a good 1 month. The reliable location capturing on ios & android turned out to be lot more difficult but I kind of knew it. But I was fairly impressed with Claude churning out fairly professional UI pretty quickly :). I distributed the app via sideloading in android (apk distribution) & via TestFlight in ios. But never got the time (rather courage) to post the apps publicly on App Store(s). The overall cost to keep running the app was pretty low. I used Firebase backend (primarily (phone)Auth, Firestore & Functions) but kept the app frontend storage heavy. I did put a nice marketing copy & invested a bit on SEO (mostly on-page). Also put pricing but frankly never thought that anybody would ever pay :). I did write my contacts just incase someone big (company size wise) discovers it & reach out to me. The entire app onboarding is hands-off & company wanting to use it, dont need to contact me to start using the app. Kept it free for 5 user org (upto 30 if they provide a testimonial). But nobody ever approached me. I dont think it ever got downloaded by anyone outside my brother's org either. Current state - Only recently I decided to make the app available on App Store(s) (it is still pending approval) as the TestFlight app kept expiring every 90 days. I did end up creating small demo videos for app posting.
