Original Summary

I’m keen to hear examples of instances where ai has actually disrupted saas or a specific saas product, or is it all speculation? My example: At my company we use ‘cut list optimizer’ which we use to figure out the maximum number of pieces of glass we can cut from one full sheet with the best economy and minimal waste. When we need it a lot we hit the paywall, we have bespoke customer / job management software, it took 1 prompt and 3 minutes for Claude to build our own integrated version of cut list optimiser using a ‘bin sorting’ algorithm, now we can actually select a number of jobs from our list and choose what glass type to use and it instantly spits out a cut list and shows wastage etc, and it’s better because it’s integrated with our products and orders there’s no manual entry of dimensions etc. I’m not saying everyone has the means to connect Claude and vibe code a solution, but in our case it has deprived CutListOptimizer of one paying customer. submitted by /u/spaffage [link] [comments]
