I lay behind glass while people played strange instruments, held Hebrew lessons, and pushed water across the floor with long wooden sticks. Someone occasionally wound up a mechanical box and struck it with a mallet. Everyone seemed to know what that meant except me. I could barely move, but I was still trying to help the technicians debug the system. Moving a finger sometimes seemed to trigger a call.
