My husband recently built and launched a budgeting app and I’ve randomly decided I want to see if I can get him his first 100 users without telling him lol. I have absolutely no background in marketing so I’m basically just figuring this out as I go. The app actually started because he kept calling me a “financial black hole” because I spend money and then somehow have no idea where it went 😂 so eventually he built something for us to actually keep track of everything. So far I’ve posted about it on Reddit a couple times and started messaging some smaller finance/budgeting creators on Instagram. I’m also thinking about making a random TikTok account and just documenting me trying to get people to download his app and surprise him. I don’t really want to start dumping money into ads yet because I have no clue what I’m doing or whether that’s even the best way to get the first users. If you’ve launched an app before, what actually worked for you in the beginning? Like if you had to get your first 100 users again from literally zero, what would you do?
