Original Summary

I print a lot of labels: price tags, product labels, barcodes. I tried many free label programs, but each one was missing something I needed. One had no background images, another couldn’t save my own design as a template, and others couldn’t create barcodes inside the program, generate barcodes in bulk, connect to a Wi-Fi printer, or find a page by its name or by what’s on it. So I built LabelAxis, one tool that does it all. It’s a free Windows app for designing labels and printing them exactly to size. The screen, PDF and printer all use the same drawing engine, so a 40 × 20 mm label really prints at 40 × 20 mm, and a calibration wizard fixes each printer’s offset. What you can do with it: Start from 66 ready-made designs, or save your own as templates, on 178 Avery/Formtec sheets or any size you measure. Fill a whole sheet from Excel, CSV or a database in one go. Make any common barcode or QR code, generate them in bulk, and grade a printed barcode A to F from a webcam photo. Print on thermal printers (ZPL/TSPL over USB, network or Bluetooth) and Wi-Fi printers, found for you. Find any page or object by name, text or barcode value. Use it in 10 languages, with Arabic, Kurdish and Persian laid out right to left. No account, no subscription, no tracking, and it’s open source (MIT). Built with C# / .NET 10. Download: https://github.com/kyro-gthub/LabelAxis/releases/latest It’s still early, so there will be rough edges. One heads-up: the installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info › Run anyway, or use the portable zip. I’d really love your feedback: what do you print labels for, and what’s missing? Thanks for checking it out! submitted by /u/_anonredditer [link] [comments]
