Original Summary

Website Link: https://projectearthforce.org/ So I'm a data scientist, and for the last two months, I've been looking into the haze in Southeast Asia. That's when I started wondering whether we could build something that flags unusual environmental changes in a particular location using environmental metrics or satellite imagery. I thought it would be pretty cool to see! Like, is the air quality getting worse around you? Is the temperature unusually high compared to what it normally is? It's basically anomaly detection software, but for the environment. It's an interactive world map that monitors around 500 cities and tries to detect unusual environmental changes on a daily basis. I used statistical anomaly detection, Isolation Forests, and a bunch of environmental datasets from NASA, Copernicus, and Open-Meteo. You can read more about the methodology from here: https://projectearthforce.substack.com/ You can explore cities, look at environmental trends, compare satellite images, and see what the system thinks is unusual. It's still very much a work in progress, especially the satellite analysis. But yeah, wanted to share the project and get feedback. Please let me know what you guys think.
