Original Summary
What it is: LabelAxis is a free Windows app for designing and printing labels: price tags, product, shipping and barcode labels. It prints on Avery and Formtec sheets, thermal printers and Wi-Fi printers. Why I built it: I used Microsoft Publisher and some free label software for my labels, but I kept running into missing features and workarounds. LabelAxis started as a way to have everything I needed in one place, and grew from there. It can even import your existing Publisher files, so your old designs don’t start from zero. What it does today: Prints exactly to size. The screen, PDF and printer all use the same drawing engine, and a calibration wizard corrects each printer’s offset. 66 ready-made designs , plus 178 Avery/Formtec sheets or any size you measure. Fills a whole sheet from Excel, CSV or a database in one go. Every common barcode and QR code , a GS1 builder, and a checker that grades a printed barcode A to F from a webcam photo. Thermal printers (Zebra ZPL, TSPL) over USB, network or Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi printers found automatically. 10 languages , with Arabic, Kurdish and Persian laid out right to left. No account, no subscription, no tracking, and it’s MIT open source. Built with: C# / .NET 10 and WPF, 850+ automated tests, and every barcode is checked by decoding it again. Download (installer or portable zip): https://github.com/kyro-gthub/LabelAxis/releases/latest The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info › Run anyway, or use the portable zip. What I’d love feedback on: What do you print labels for, and what’s missing for that? Was anything confusing in your first five minutes? Which printer or label sheet should I test next? Thanks for reading. I’m answering every comment. submitted by /u/_anonredditer [link] [comments]
