Original Summary
so after 4 months of weekend coding I finally finished my social sports prediction app. no real money involved, just a leaderboard for friend groups to track their weekly picks Apple rejected it three times this week because of "gambling guidelines". Even though there's literally no fiat integration at all. dealing with their review team is like talking to a brick wall. Plus the api costs for live sports data are just criminal... they want to charge indie devs like $500/mo just for basic live nfl scores. honestly it made me realize fighting for B2C users in this niche is a complete trap. Started looking at how the actual industry works and the B2B infrastructure model is way smarter. like how private local leagues just rent out a pay per head platform to handle all the heavy lifting and live odds instead of trying to build custom apps from scratch and fighting app store bureaucracy. I think im just gonna scrap the ios version entirely and pivot the codebase to a simple web dashboard for discord communities. Getting walled right at the finish line hurts man. Anyone else have to hard pivot their project because of app store politics? submitted by /u/Unlucky-Moment-3366 [link] [comments]
