Original Summary
No pitch here, just an honest update and a few lessons, in case it helps someone at the same stage. How it started We kept seeing founders hit the same two walls: finding an idea that actually makes money, and then having no clue how to market it. So we built a product for each problem. Product 1: FoundersDB My brother started it with real founder stories, covering how people actually built their businesses and made money. 100+ people paid for it. We ran zero ads. We just launched V2, which adds startup and app data (estimated revenue and downloads) so you can see what’s working before you build. Product 2: Slidefy I built this because marketing was our own biggest struggle. It turns your product into ready-to-post content for social platforms. 250+ users so far. The first paying customer came through the app itself, with no DM and no sales call. What we learned Signups show curiosity. Payments show value. We celebrated signups for weeks before realizing they meant almost nothing. Being consistent beat being clever. No viral moment, just showing up week after week. Building for your own problem makes marketing easier, because you already know exactly what to say. Real founder stories sell better than features. People pay to see how others did it. What’s next We’re adding new case studies every week and sharing the numbers as we go. Happy to answer anything about pricing, getting the first paid users, or building as brothers. What was harder for you: finding the idea or getting your first paying customer? submitted by /u/FearlessCommittee412 [link] [comments]
