Last week I posted here that openGym hit 7.6k stars and I was a bit speechless. Well, you kept going. It's at 8.3k now, the Discord is almost at 1.5k, and the Buy Me a Coffee goal is fully funded. Thank you, seriously. And the big one I promised is out: v1.4.0 with a brand new exercise database. 5,632 exercises instead of 1,324. Bands, kettlebells, landmines, suspension trainers, every machine you can think of, plus stretching, mobility, yoga and pilates. New licensed animations (I paid for them instead of grabbing whatever was online). Male or female drawings for about 940 exercises. Search rebuilt. Typos forgiven ("sqat"), gym shorthand understood ("rdl", "ohp", "db"), and it suggests similar exercises instead of showing nothing. Nothing you logged changes. Every old exercise keeps its id, so workouts, routines and backups stay exactly as they are. Old phones keep working against a new server. For the self-hosters specifically: the media ship inside the web image , nothing downloads on first start the web image runs without root now new Helm chart and a Nix flake + NixOS module , both from the community pair with a server behind Cloudflare Access using a service token plain http:// servers at home can be paired from the app Plus a pile of training stuff people asked for: sets to failure, triple progression, back-off sets, your own dumbbell rack, body measurements, Garmin .fit export and Health Connect on Android. 47 of the PRs in this release came from 20 community contributors.
