Original Summary
Try it here: https://freecaptions.online/ I built FreeCaptions for short-form videos. Drop in a clip and it gives you word-timed animated captions, but the part I cared about was editing: if the transcription gets one word wrong, fixing that word doesn’t throw away the timing for everything around it. It runs entirely in the browser. No upload, no account, no watermark. You can export a burned-in MP4 or SRT/VTT, paste a script for exact wording, and save or share a style. The tradeoff is that the first run downloads a model, and Chrome/Edge on desktop is the best experience right now. I’d love to know where this breaks or what you’d want before using it. submitted by /u/asmekal [link] [comments]
