Original Summary

Hi r/SideProject , I built IronBuddy, a workout tracker for Android that’s now live on Google Play. Why I built it? Almost everything wants a monthly fee now, and I think it’s more honest to pay once for something. Many fitness apps have also grown so many features that the basic job, logging your workout, gets buried. I wanted a gym log that does that job well, works offline and is paid for once. What it does? Log sets, reps and weight for every exercise, with notes. Log today or a past date, add exercises on the fly, and drag them into the order you train them. Android Auto Backup is supported, so your data can also be restored from your own Google account when you change phones. Drop sets, rest-pause and supersets, plus a day note for the whole session. 10 preset splits (Push/Pull/Legs, Full Body, Bro Split and more) or build your own. Change a single day once, or for every week after. Progress charts for total volume, volume per exercise, and 1RM (one-rep max), calculated with the Epley formula on the best set of each workout. Personal records are marked automatically. 800+ exercises with demo images and how-to steps. Optional body weight and body fat % charts. Decisions I made along the way: No account. Your data is stored on your phone, isn’t sent to IronBuddy servers, and the app works fully offline. Backups stay in your hands: an automatic JSON backup to your Downloads folder (you can turn it off), manual export, and import that saves an undo copy from just before. For 1RM, sets above 12 reps count as 12, because the Epley formula stops being reliable at high reps. Long histories group into weeks or months, so a chart covering a year stays readable. Pricing: free to download with a 5-day trial that includes a starter selection (50 exercises and 3 preset splits). After the trial, a one-time €6.99 in-app purchase unlocks everything and is needed to keep using the app (the local price is shown on Google Play). No subscription, no ads. It’s Android only for now. An iOS version is on our roadmap, and we’ll share news about availability as soon as we can. Where I’d value feedback: if you lift, whether logging a set feels quick enough between sets. And if you’ve shipped a pay-once app, how you handled the trial.
