Original Summary
I upload videos on youtube (mostly long form) and until a few months ago, I was manually adding subtitles (english & korean) to my videos I wanted a better and faster way to caption my videos without spending ages fixing timestamps, adjusting line breaks, and making everything look right in my editor, so I built a small web tool called CaptionsThis: https://captionsthis.com It turns audio or video into timed captions and lets you export them as SRT or FCPXML for editors like Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and just XML for Premiere Pro I've also been experimenting with using Final Cut's built-in titles to create word-by-word animations without requiring a separate plugin It's still a work in progress, and I'm trying to figure out which features are actually most useful to other creators while also using it in my own workflow (I use Final Cut Pro for editing) If you make videos, I'd love to know: What's the most annoying part of your current captioning workflow? What would make you switch from your current tool? There's a free tier to the web-app, so you can experiment without committing to a subscription submitted by /u/raspberrysans [link] [comments]
