Original Summary

Hi HN. Hence is a modern twist on the classic logic grid puzzle (zebra puzzles, Einstein's riddle): all the deduction, but every clue is a picture instead of a sentence.
There's a 4x4 and a 6x6 every day, the same for everyone. Free, no signup, and progress lives in your browser.
A few things I cared about:
- Every puzzle can be solved by deduction alone, so you never have to guess. Each one is checked against a solver before it ships. The solver verifies every puzzle is solvable from the clues alone, then trims the clues down to the minimum each difficulty level needs. - Hints are there for when you aren't noticing something. They nudge you in the right direction without giving too much away. - The art is a core part of the experience. Everything is designed toy-like: chunky, bold, and simple, so it looks fun and reads clearly on a small phone screen. Each item needed to have a unique shape and color so you can recognize it at a glance, and you can easily know what group it belongs to. A lot of thought went into every one of those decisions, and you'd never notice most of them while playing. What you get is a game that just feels fun.
The thing I'm still tuning is the first two minutes. I'd love to hear whether the difficulty felt about right, did you find it fun, do you want to play again, and would you send your result to a friend to challenge them against your result? (when you send, they play against what you solved)
https://hencegame.com
