Original Summary
https://reddit.com/link/1x0onfh/video/uxye4jf2c8uh1/player Made a glasses try-on that works with any online store, and your photo never leaves your phone Free, no sign-up: https://mirra.logicaleap.com Mirra lets you see glasses on your own face before you buy them online. Paste a link to a frame from pretty much any eyewear store (or upload a photo of the frames), take a selfie or use one from your camera roll, and the frames go on your face at real size. The part I care about most - your photo never leaves your device. Face detection runs in the browser, so there's no upload, no account, and nothing on my end to store or leak. The only thing that touches my server is the glasses image, because most stores block cross-origin image fetches. If I can't fetch the images, you have an option to upload it yourself. How the sizing works: - your iris is roughly the same size on nearly every adult, so it's a ruler that's already in the photo - the scraper pulls the frame measurements off the product page (the 52-18-145 numbers) when the store lists them - put those together and the frame is drawn at its real width on your face. if you know your PD you can enter it and it gets exact Harder than I expected - product photos show the temple arms through the lenses, which looks terrible once it's on a face. Ended up writing a pass that finds the lens and covers the arms up. Tinted lenses needed a different trick. Limitations, to be upfront: it's a flat 2D overlay, not 3D AR. Works best on a front-on photo and it won't follow you if you turn your head. Would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you guys might have! submitted by /u/Fanatic-Mr-Fox [link] [comments]
