Original Summary
I got tired of clicking through WSDOT cameras one at a time, so I built this. You enter a start and a finish and it lists the cameras along the road in the order you'll pass them, with the forecast for when you'll get there (not right now). What's in it so far: - Trip mode for any two places in Washington, with "follow my trip" that drops cameras you've already passed - Mountain passes: open, chains or closed for every WSDOT pass, plus a replay of the last couple of hours of each pass camera so you can see if the snow is piling up (the passes go live when WSDOT starts winter reports around Nov 1) - Ferry terminals with next sailings and spaces left, border wait times, Sea-Tac and Paine Field with FAA delays - Ski areas, national parks, airfield cams, river levels, tides and surf near Westport, open source cameras - About 1,700 cameras, all from feeds the owners publish for public use It's free, no accounts, no ads, no tracking. It runs in your phone's browser, so it works the same on Android and iPhone, and you can add it to your home screen. It remembers the last place you looked at. It's a prototype Washington State only so far. Missing: Seattle and Bellevue city cameras (I haven't found terms that let me use them), and some cameras go down now and then. I've only been able to test it on a few phones, so tell me what breaks. What's the one drive or place you check most, and does it show up the way you'd want? https://github.com/codingwithchad/oscams submitted by /u/CodingWithChad [link] [comments]
