Original Summary
I run internshipdaily.com , internship alerts for students. around 500 weekly actives, 4.3k signups, barely covers server costs. 3 weeks ago I tried a growth thing: refer 3 friends who verify their email and open a job, get premium forever. premium is only $30/year so I figured who would bother cheating for that. results so far: 19 people shared their link, 55 signups came through it, 9 unlocked premium forever. 4 of the 9 cheated. first guy did it 20 minutes after I sent the launch email. three accounts on vtmpj.com, findize.com and hideam.com. I didn't know those existed. added a blocklist of 8,800 disposable domains the same day. next guy found two that weren't on it (hudzer.com, flakeian.com). the ones after that just used gmail. four gmails with the same last name, same phone, 11 minutes, done. I also tried a same-IP rule, had to remove it because it was blocking actual roommates in dorms. I'm letting all of them keep it. if you'll make 4 gmail accounts for $30 of internship alerts, you probably need the internship. next attempt, mostly for the challenge: a whatsapp bot for premium users that sends you the best new internship for you and applies on your behalf if you say yes. costs me money per user so this one I'd rather not get gamed. happy to answer questions on the stack or the numbers. submitted by /u/Technical-Machine-76 [link] [comments]
