Original Summary
I'm launching a privacy-friendly analytics tool (PageLens: no cookies, funnels and error tracking in one script), and the decision I went back and forth on most was the trial. Where I landed: - 7 days, no card required - Pro limits during the trial, so people see everything - When it ends, data collection pauses but nothing is deleted, so there's a reason to come back and pay My reasoning: for analytics the hard part isn't getting a signup, it's getting someone to actually paste the script on their site. A card form before that felt like the wrong place for friction. The worry: 7 days might be too short for an analytics product, since you need traffic to accumulate before it looks valuable. For those of you who tested both: Did no-card trials convert worse, or just bring more tire-kickers? What trial length worked for products where the value takes time to show up? submitted by /u/No_Advertising2536 [link] [comments]
