Original Summary

As the title suggests, I made a body doubling service that works for me. But haven't really tested it out yet. (And would love anyone who is into these kind of thing to roast me ..haha) To give a bit of context, I am a uni student who can't get stuff done at home, alone. So, what I would do is usually go to the nearest cafe or the college library to finish assignments and to avoid scrolling through reels all day. And studying at these places worked! Which I think is because I get socially peer pressured from seeing everyone else working, or being worried someone might judge me if I do something other than work (I know.... I am a bit self-conscious). But, I have to say, after two full semesters of going to cafes 4~5 times a week, the Cafe Latte bills were piling up (haha). So, tried out body doubling on discord communities and "Focusmate" (which is a body doubling service that my sis introduced me to) and it was kinda fun to meet random people to see them work and all. However, having a zoom call with strangers made me very self conscious. It was pretty tiring because I couldn't really focus since I would be checking how I looked on camera every 5 minutes....(and I kept going back and forth, shifting screens from where my work was to the cameras) So, I made my own version of body doubling, but with less camera-fatigue (personal take here). It basically tracks your eyes and mouth and shows (not your face) but the face of a cartoonify-ed avatar you selected as your profile. And it stays on top of other windows so you don't have to switch tabs to see you or other people. (it should come up when you type heySideKick on google) I would be honored for brutal feed back, for example, if the concept is clear from the landing page, if you would actually use a floating overlay, if the features are worth using, if there is any friction during sign-up...ect.
