Original Summary
(Definitely not biased) I began building this website as just a personal tool to help me with both budgeting and financial planning. As I added more and more features, I figured that this is something that can turn into a full fledged web tool to help people with many different financial scenarios and goals. It is completely free and everything is saved locally in browser, or you can export to your device, or even share a link of a budget / strategy to a friend. I mainly built this because most financial calculators I found online answer only one isolated question, but real decisions interact and those changes can affect the entire system. For example, money sent to a mortgage is money not invested, and paying the loan off early frees a payment that then gets invested for longer. Those two loops can push against each other. So the Strategy Lab models a household as connected nodes (income, accounts, debts, assets) with arrows (flows) for where each month's cash goes. The link takes you to the landing page but you can navigate to the main tool, the Strategy Lab, from there. Within the Strategy Lab, click on template and then start experimenting by changing the percentages and assumptions. The Compound Strategy Lab is meant for people to test and simulate financial planning and financial strategies that can be personalized. It is not a guarantee of actual results but rather on big calculator that shows an outcome based on inputs and assumptions. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any feedback! I am always looking to improve the UI, UX, or accuracy. On this page you can independently verify the math: https://compoundstrategylab.com/tests submitted by /u/CompoundStrategyLab [link] [comments]
