Original Summary
What it is: an iOS app that reads the Apple Health data your Watch already collects and turns it into four daily scores - Sleep, Recovery, Strain, Readiness - the WHOOP/Oura numbers, without the strap or the subscription. Everything is computed on the phone; nothing is uploaded; no account needed. Live since May 2026, on version 1.9.4 (in review). Honest numbers after ~4 months: 71 first-time downloads, 60 people signed in, about 20 monthly actives, D30 retention 21%. Zero paid marketing. Every organic download so far came from App Store search; 130 short-form videos on IG/YT produced 8 followers and one attributable install, so I stopped those. The mistake that cost me a month: one App Store Connect number read off a screen. I saw "63 downloads in 30 days" next to "11 sign-ins" and concluded the sign-in wall was killing 85% of installs. Built a whole anonymous-first onboarding release around it. Then reconciled against the lifetime total: the 63 was the lifetime figure, real conversion was ~67%, and the real problem was simply that nobody could find the app. Lesson: never let a single dashboard number drive a release until it is reconciled against a second source. What changed this week: Apple announced a native readiness score - on the new Series 12 / Ultra 4 only. Every earlier Watch still doesn't get one, which is exactly the gap this app fills (Series 4 and later), so the store listing now says "Recovery & Readiness" instead of "Health & Fitness", and I put up six plain-English guides on how these scores actually work. Stack: Swift 6 / SwiftUI, SwiftData, HealthKit, no backend for health data (Supabase for metadata-only analytics), Xcode Cloud. ~1,800 unit tests, most of them pinning the scoring math and the "real data or nothing" rule (a missing reading shows a dash and the reason, never a filled-in number). Next: get to 100 downloads without spending money - App Store keywords, the guides, and answering people on Reddit who ask "which recovery app" honestly.
