Original Summary
I know certs take a lot of work, and when I passed my exams, the badges mostly end up sitting in an inbox from Credly. So I built something to put them on your desk instead. MiniCert is a 3.7" display that shows your Credly badges floating inside a 50 mm K9 glass beam splitter cube. It turns through every badge you've earned, each with the date you earned it. Earn a new one, sync it, and it joins the collection. How it works: You simply enter your Credly username in MiniCert Sync, which runs in your browser over USB. Pick your badges and they're on the device. No app, no sign-in, no subscription. Up to 40 badges at a time, with a dial for brightness and carousel speed. Every device is loaded with custom, secure firmware and checked by hand before it ships. Full transparency on why I'm posting: I've been running Reddit ads in certification subreddits. About 15 people clicked "Buy Now", with the price shown at $149, and reached the checkout.... Zero paid. I repeat, zero. The 3 people who have bought came from my early waitlist, and their orders are ready to ship. I've tested the checkout every way I can, and it works. So instead of guessing, I'm asking real cert holders. On the price: it's $149 for the first 25 orders (normally $199). Bought one at a time, the display board alone runs about $40 and the K9 glass cube about $80. That's before the enclosure, the firmware, the sync software, and having it arrive ready to run. You plug it in, and it works. Video and photos: https://minicert.io What I'd really like to know: Would you put this on your desk? Does the price feel fair for what it is? If you clicked "Buy now" and then didn't buy, what stopped you? Roast it if it deserves it. I'd rather hear it now. Thanks. submitted by /u/GimmeAByte0101 [link] [comments]
