Original Summary
They usually have one connected problem: a broken growth system. It often looks like this: ICP isn't clear. You target too many industries, company sizes and buyer personas. So your marketing becomes generic. ↓ 2. Positioning isn't differentiated. Your website talks about AI, automation, platforms and features. But the buyer doesn't immediately understand why you're different. ↓ 3. GTM isn't repeatable. Your first customers came through founders, referrals, investors or personal networks. You haven't figured out how to consistently acquire the next 10. ↓ 4. Pipeline becomes unpredictable. So you add more: Ads. Outbound. Content. S DRs. Channels. But more activity doesn't necessarily create more revenue. ↓ 5. Growth remains founder-dependent. The founder is still selling, marketing, doing demos, creating content, talking to customers and generating partnerships. The business is growing. But the system isn't. And that's the trap. You try to solve #4 by adding more acquisition. But the real problem might be #1. You try to solve #3 by adding another channel. But the real problem might be #2. You try to solve #5 by hiring marketers. But the underlying GTM still isn't repeatable. That's why I believe Seed-stage growth should start with diagnosis, not tactics. The question isn't: “What marketing should we do? ”Its: “What's actually preventing this company from growing predictably? I work through: ICP → Positioning → Messaging → GTM → Acquisition → Conversion → Retention. Fix the constraint first. Then scale what works. Don't scale the symptoms. Diagnose the system. If you're a Seed-stage SaaS/AI founder, which part of this system is hardest for you right now? submitted by /u/sonusuman [link] [comments]
