Original Summary
I built this. I keep a short list of companies I actually want to work at. I work in marketing, and a broad search turns up a lot of roles outside those companies and outside the places I can work. Once I have a link I use career-ops, an open-source tool that scores the role and drafts the resume: https://github.com/career-ops-hq/career-ops I built job-alerts as a complement to it. I hear about a new posting on that short list, then paste the link into career-ops. job-alerts watches public Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby boards. On a Mac, it checks every few minutes with launchd and sends a notification when a new role matches your keywords and locations. Click the banner and the job opens. A closed laptop is asleep, so the banner shows up when you open it. A GitHub Action can open an issue while the machine is off, if you add your company list to your own copy, made from the template. It does not apply for you. The repo watches nobody until you add a company. But it does make sure that you can be one of the first to apply. https://github.com/nataligmhall/job-alerts submitted by /u/ConsciousGreenPepper [link] [comments]
