Original Summary
I’m thinking of a game where players can buy land, build properties, and create events for other players. For example, someone could buy land and build: A movie theater A concert or event venue A gaming lounge A house or mansion A shop An art gallery A community space Players could build a following around their property. Followers could pay something like $5 per month to be part of that land and get access to the events, movies, special areas, and other experiences. The more followers and activity a property has, the higher the value of that property could become. So the idea would be: Buy land → Build a property → Get followers → Create events → Grow the community → Increase the property value → Sell the property For example, if someone builds a movie theater and gets a large community around it, another player might want to buy that property because the community and value have already been built. I also think the game should encourage players to develop their land instead of just buying it and leaving it empty. The goal would be for players to create places that other players actually want to visit. The world could have a player-driven economy where land prices, property values, and communities change based on what players are building and how many people are using them. The idea is basically: MMO + virtual real estate + player-created content + communities + events + player-driven economy I’m still working on the idea, and there would be a lot to figure out, like subscriptions, land scarcity, moderation, preventing speculation, and how the economy would work. Would you be interested in playing something like this? Does this sound more like an MMO, or would it feel too much like a virtual investment platform? I would like people to rate the idea and tell me what parts could break the concept. submitted by /u/Alert-Ad-5918 [link] [comments]
