Original Summary

https://reddit.com/link/1wybzfi/video/dkm9xwff6oth1/player I'm a long-time Windows user, and when I started using a Mac, I just couldn't get used to the Dock. My biggest pain: I'd have a pile of Finder windows open and could never find the one I actually needed. I tried another taskbar app and loved the idea, but kept thinking "this could be even better." So I decided to try building one myself. At first, all I wanted was to spread every window out on the taskbar so I could see and click exactly the one I want. Then I had a random idea: what if it had a little more personality? So I added RGB lighting, like a mechanical keyboard. Once that was done, I kept going and added animated scenes and even mini-games that live right in the taskbar. What's free (no time limit) - Windows-style taskbar with a button for every open window (yes, every single Finder window gets its own) - Start menu and system tray - Multi-display, 20 languages Pro – one-time US$10, 14-day free trial, no subscription - RGB lighting effects that pulse to your music - 12 animated scenes inside the taskbar (cars driving by, an aquarium, a garden…) - Mini-games you can play from the tray Some things I learned shipping it - Built in Swift with only Command Line Tools, no Xcode - Getting Developer ID signing + Apple notarization working was an adventure of its own - Licensing runs on Lemon Squeezy's license API - Notarized, Apple silicon only for now Site: https://bittyferrari.github.io/taskbar-for-mac/ This is my first paid app. I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love any honest feedback on the app, the pricing, or the landing page! submitted by /u/bittyferrari [link] [comments]
