Original Summary
I run a small agency and built an n8n workflow to find leads for my own cold outreach. It searches Google Maps through Serper for businesses in a niche, county by county, then checks each company's website, Google reviews, BBB listing and LinkedIn. Claude scores each company on things like company size, whether they already use a CRM or booking tool, and whether their reviews mention problems like slow callbacks or poor communication. For the ones that qualify, it finds the owner's name and email, using the website and search first and Hunter only as a last resort. Over the past week it has researched about 1,100 companies and qualified around 250 of them, roughly 18 to 22 percent depending on the area, at under 2 cents per qualified lead in API costs. The biggest weakness so far is that only about 37 percent of qualified leads end up with a confirmed owner email, and the rest are office emails or guesses that still need verifying. A few people have asked to use it, so I'm planning a self-serve version where you type something like "pool builders in Tampa" and get a qualified list back. The stack I'm leaning toward is Supabase for the database, auth and row-level security, with n8n kept as the engine and triggered by a webhook per search, writing to Supabase instead of the Google Sheets it uses now. On top of that, a Next.js front end with a search form, a live results table and CSV export, plus Stripe with a credit system, since my costs scale per lead rather than per user. The API keys stay inside n8n so customers never touch them. I've estimated $100 to $250 a month to run an MVP before usage costs. The part I'm least sure about is whether keeping n8n as the backend will hurt me once several users run searches at the same time, since right now it processes one job in rounds every 20 minutes. I'm also torn between credits and flat monthly plans, and I haven't looked closely at whether Serper's and Hunter's terms allow reselling their data inside another product. If you've built something similar, I'd like to hear which of these turned out to matter and which didn't. Not selling anything yet, I just want to avoid rebuilding it twice. submitted by /u/Big_Mongoose_4294 [link] [comments]
