In 2020 I panic-sold my first stocks after a few red weeks and took a loss. Had I held, the money would've doubled. Last year it finally clicked, and most of my savings now sit in one world ETF. What surprised me most is how complicated investing in Germany is: you pay tax on gains you haven't realised, declare everything, and basically become a part-time accountant.
