Original Summary
I've been working on a side project called Vivid Photos : https://vivid.photos In one line: you manage your photos in Vivid, and your AI writes the website. In more technical terms, it's a headless CMS for photos. Why I built it Getting ChatGPT or Claude Code to put together a photography portfolio in an afternoon is easy now. The photos are the awkward part: Hundreds of full-size originals in the repo? Each one also needs several sizes, AVIF/WebP versions and a placeholder while it loads. AI can write that code, but it writes it again for every site, a little differently each time. Picking, ordering and captioning photos means looking at them. Typing "move the third Mt. Fuji shot to the front" into a chat is painful. If you built the site for someone else, they have to come back to you every time they want to swap a photo or fix a caption. One slip and the GPS data in the EXIF goes online with the originals. So I split the job in two: people manage the photos, AI writes the code, and an API connects the two. It's really just the usual CMS idea. How it works Upload photos to Vivid, make albums, put them in order, write captions Click Publish Copy the prompt from the Connect page and paste it into the AI you use (ChatGPT, Claude Code, Lovable, or any other coding agent) Your AI reads Vivid's docs and your published albums, then builds the site. Host it wherever you like: Vercel, Cloudflare, Lovable, your own server (your AI can handle the deploy too). After that, you don't go back to the AI to change photos. Edit in Vivid and click Publish. Sites built this way usually read your albums on every visit, so the change shows up within a minute. Stack All on Cloudflare: Data: D1 + Drizzle, originals in R2 Images: the Images binding for resizing and format conversion; EXIF and ThumbHash are extracted on Queues after upload Three Workers, for the web app, the API and images, each on its own domain What it doesn't do (yet) Build or host your site, or offer themes. That's on purpose: it's what your AI is for. No HEIC yet, so iPhone photos need to be exported as JPEG first. No HDR or Live Photos yet either. No private albums or client proofing. Pricing Free for now, with 2 GB of originals per workspace. Feedback welcome I'd love for you to try it and tell me what's confusing or missing. Happy to answer anything in the comments.
