Original Summary

My friends and I have been running a league in an app called Fantasy Critic for years, which is the same concept but for video games. Every season, someone in our league asks the same question: why doesn't this exist for movies? And we'd all trash-talk about how we'd crush a movie version if it did. I couldn’t find anything else out there that scratched the itch, so I went and built Fantasy Reel! We have had a league going in the app for the past year, and it’s been super fun! How it works: - You can create a league and invite friends, and then draft upcoming movies to your team - As movies release, you will score (or lose) points based on their critic scores from Rotten Tomatoes - Throughout the year as the league progresses, you can bid on other upcoming movies to add to your team, make trades with others in your league, and also place counter picks from other people’s roster if you think they drafted a movie that will review poorly. - Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins, and you can kick off a new season for next year It’s completely free as I ultimately built it as something fun for myself, so I welcome anyone that wants to give it a try! It has been a fun way for my friends and I to stay engaged with upcoming film releases while discovering new things to watch, and of course talking trash about each other’s tastes. I’m super open to feedback for improvements or ways to make it enjoyable for others. https://www.fantasyreel.com submitted by /u/The4upz [link] [comments]
