How do people deal with operating a service that has high running costs when you don't have any income from it? For example, I posted recently lamenting the state of cloud IdP services for small systems. And I considered building my own for people to use instead. And to do so, with the things I'd need to prove trust, is expensive . For example, things like: ISO 27001 SOC2 Pen Testing Cyber insurance Disaster recovery That can easily run into tens or hundreds of thousands that I don't have...
