Screenshots are effortless to take, but a week later the useful one can be buried among dozens of similar images. That's the problem I'm trying to solve with SnapRecall , a macOS app I'm building. My main design constraint was to keep the Mac's existing screenshot shortcuts. You choose a folder, set it as the save location in macOS's Shift-Command-5 options, and SnapRecall turns those files into a library you can browse by date and session. The originals stay accessible on your Mac. There's no account or cloud upload. I also added SnapSession for work that belongs together: choose a window or display and collect screenshots in a manual session, with optional delayed captures or silent video. Optional on-device AI can read text, suggest tags and summaries, and search by meaning after you opt in and download the models. It's now in Mac TestFlight beta (macOS 14+) , and I'd value feedback from people who take a lot of screenshots. A quick test is to set up the folder, take three screenshots with your normal shortcut, and try to find one again. Where does that flow feel unclear or cumbersome?
