Hey everyone, I’m Kevin, co-founder of inklet. I kept saving things I wanted to come back to: a passage from an article, a useful link, a few notes about what to do tomorrow. Most of them disappeared into folders and tabs. Unless I remembered to search for something, I rarely saw it again. That’s why we built inklet Portal. It turns notes, links, images, and PDFs into glanceable cards you can keep on your Mac desktop. A simple example: at the end of the day, you have a messy note with a few unfinished tasks and ideas for tomorrow. Send it to Portal and ask, “Turn this into my three priorities for tomorrow.” Portal uses AI to make a card, which you can place in a desktop widget. When you sit down the next morning, your plan is already in view. There’s a Mac shortcut for capturing things from another app, and everything you send stays in a searchable library. The goal isn’t to replace your notes app—it’s to give a few things worth revisiting a place outside it. We originally started inklet as an e-ink hardware project. We’re still working on that, but Portal works on the web and macOS today, and you don’t need any extra hardware to try it . We’re launching on Product Hunt this Friday, October 2, and I’d love some feedback before then.
