Original Summary
How it started: I vibe code on claude code, so to save tokens, I switch to other LLMs to discuss new features/errors etc., but every switch needed my effort to manually copy and paste the raw text to another Al The need: I wanted a tool that makes copying context across Al tools faster, compress chats to save tokens, and keep chat privacy To solve my own frustration, I built a browser extension that seamlessly carries your compressed chat history over from one Al tool to another. Everything runs 100% locally on your machine. The hardest part was the text compression. I built a tool to compress the chat history to save tokens while keeping the full context. Right now, it works incredibly well on code heavy chats (~51% compression). But on day to day conversational text, the savings drop to single digits. I need your feedback and advice on: If you jump between LLMs, try it out and share your feedback: PromptHop on webstore For the developers here: Do you have any recommendations or techniques for compressing conversational context locally without losing the core meaning for the next LLM? What would you have done differently to solve the need mentioned above? submitted by /u/hakxajszzhzjU [link] [comments]
