Every "AI" money app I tried does the same thing: your transactions go to their server, a model reads them there, answers come back. Your groceries, your pharmacy runs, your bar tabs, all sitting on a cloud you do not control. So I built one where the model lives on the phone. Mizan ships small language models inside the app (three sizes, picked by how much RAM your phone has). Ask it "what did I spend on food this month" or "am I over budget" and it answers from your data, on-device. Airplane mode works. No account, no server. What is in it: - on-device AI chat about your spending, fully offline - receipt scanning with your own cloud key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc) if you want it, off by default, key stored encrypted on the phone - no sign-up, all data stays on the phone - AES-256 encrypted backups, you hold the password - multi-currency, budgets with alerts, recurring, income and transfers, insights, PDF and CSV export, widget, biometric lock - no ads, no trackers, no analytics SDK Numbers so far: 75 istalls, all organic, zero ad spend, first paying subscriber this month.
