I built ChatPiP around a habit I've had for years: watching streams while I game. Video-only picture-in-picture works for watching, but I miss the chat. That's the part that makes a stream feel live to me. ChatPiP keeps Twitch or YouTube video and live chat together in a floating window in desktop Chrome. Chat can sit beside or below the video. It also supports multiple streams, with their chats in the same window.
