Hey everyone, I always hated that every birthday reminder app on the App Store either required you to create an account, was loaded with ads, or explicitly harvested your phone's contact list to sell your data. So, I built Birthday Reminder as a privacy-first alternative. It operates 100% offline using a local SQLite database, and best of all, it is completely free (no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases). My favorite feature is the Facebook import. Instead of forcing you to log in with Facebook and give up your data to the Graph API, the app uses on-device Machine Learning (OCR) to scan a screenshot of your Facebook birthday page. It extracts the names and dates locally in seconds without ever talking to a server.
