Original Summary
I think founders sometimes ask the wrong question too early: “How do I get thousands of customers?” When you have zero customers, the more useful question is simply, “How do I get ten?” And the answer is usually something painfully manual. You might DM potential customers one at a time, cold email a hundred people, hang out in communities where your customers already spend time, or personally onboard every new user. None of this sounds particularly exciting, and none of it scales very well. But that’s actually the point. Your first distribution channel doesn’t need to become your permanent growth engine. Its job is to teach you who actually wants the product, what gets their attention, what makes them hesitate, and ultimately what convinces them to buy. Once you understand those things, you have something worth scaling. I’m curious how this played out for other founders. What was the first distribution channel that actually worked for you? submitted by /u/Groundbreaking_Ad154 [link] [comments]
