Solo dev, I make Spent., an expense tracker with no account and no cloud. My bank sends a push every time I pay, and I was still typing each one in by hand. Spent 1.5 added rules that read those notifications, and 1.6 was mostly about the list they land in. You write a rule for your bank's notification: which bit is the amount, which is the merchant. On iOS 27 a Shortcuts automation hands each notification to Spent. Texts from your bank work too, I set one up from the Messages app. Nothing becomes a transaction on its own. It goes into a "to review" list and stays out of your balances until you open it and save. The whole point is speed. If I don't log a payment when it happens, a few days later I'm scrolling my bank app trying to work out what "POS 4471" was, and backfilling a week of transactions is exactly where I've quit every tracker before. So the capture is instant and then it waits for me. Captures never expire, and closing the sheet leaves them where they were. Each row shows the account and category it'll land in, and flags it when the currency doesn't match the account. If a merchant name looks weird you can open the original notification text right there. For a clean list there's an approve-all tick. It asks first and skips anything flagged or missing a category. Duplicates get checked when you save, same as a manual entry, so if one turns out to be a dupe it stays in the list marked instead of saving twice. The catches: it only works with banks that send a push or a text, you have to write the rule yourself, and it needs iOS 27 plus a Shortcuts automation, so sorry to anyone still on pre-iOS 27. On a locked phone it captures as long as you've unlocked once since the last restart. There's no AI in this part, just parsing, and it's free. The only paid thing is the on-device Al, $7.99 once, no subscription. The rule setup is where I'm least sure.
