Original Summary
Most money apps want your bank credentials (or a Plaid-style connection that breaks every other month). I wanted the opposite: something that works from the statements I already download - PDF or CSV - with no account linking, ever. So I built personalCFO ( https://personalcfo.agency ). What it does: You upload statements from Chase, Amex, BoA, Citi, Cap One, Wells, etc. It builds one deduplicated ledger across institutions Chat answers are grounded in code-run totals (the model reads the numbers; it does not invent the arithmetic) Multi-income classification (salary / freelance / rental / gig) so mixed W-2 + 1099 months are not one blurry "deposit" An Insight Feed that proactively flags subscription creep, likely duplicate charges, and cashflow risk - without waiting for you to think of the question Privacy stance I care about: no bank credentials requested, data encrypted at rest, account numbers masked, not used to train a model, not sold. I am looking for blunt feedback from other makers: Does "no bank login + statement upload" land as a feature or a limitation in your first 5 seconds on the landing page? Would you trust an Insight Feed that surfaces subscriptions / duplicates on its own, or does that feel naggy until you opt in? What would make you try it for one messy multi-account month? Happy to share screenshots / walk through the import flow in the comments. Roast the positioning if it is unclear. submitted by /u/amitghosh80 [link] [comments]
